Happy New Year and welcome to 2021.
Like most of us, January is about starting over and challenging yourself to do better, be better, or at least try! Where do you want to make changes in your professional and personal lives? Just as eating healthier is obvious so is getting healthy with our finances. Money can be an intimidating thing, especially when you don’t know who to sit down with and just discuss, without judgment or well-meaning opinions. Or worse, have no idea how to protect what you have. Finances for women have changed over the decades, dramatically. There was a time a woman couldn’t have her own bank account or purchase a home on her own. Talking about money, savings accounts, retirement, and generally protecting what you have is a taboo subject by many.
If you are drowning in debt, there are 3 easy strategies to pay it all off. While most don’t like it when I use the “B” word, the first thing you need is a budget or spending plan to tell your money where to work each month. Second, you need to know how much you owe. Last and certainly not least, putting it all together you discover how much surplus you have in order to pay off your debt.
Are you in a less than perfect financial situation? Feeling as though you’re always trying to catch up? If so, you’re not alone. Did you know the average US household debt is over $137,000, including mortgage debt, credit cards, and other forms of unsecured debt.
It doesn’t have to stay this way and really who wants to live like we’re in the middle of a financial crisis every time the phone rings or we look through the mail. Achieving freedom and flexibility isn’t easy, it takes work. But, once you start, I assure you it gets easier. Taking the first step is shaky but that’s ok. We didn’t get in the mess overnight so it will take some time to recover but recover you will.
This is one of the reasons I do what I do as a Money Coach. The first step for 2021 was to create a 30-day money challenge spread out over six weeks. We take one informational item each of these days and you complete the task I’ve assigned for that day. At the end of six weeks, you will have and know more about your financial house than perhaps you ever have. Things like exactly how much debt you have and what it’s costing you in interest alone. We work on imagining what your future would be like when you have financial flexibility. You are encouraged to ask as many questions as you need in a private Facebook group I created, Women & Money Solutions. It is a safe place to ask those embarrassing questions that we “think” we should know better. I still ask embarrassing questions!! Join the 30-day Money Challenge and let’s work on YOU. Don’t say to yourself, next year, do it now!! You are your best investment, you’re worth it!! Request to join the group here: (3) Women & Money Solutions | Facebook
I invite you to think about joining the Facebook group and working through the challenge. My coaching benefits my clients in that they have someone to listen to them without judgment, someone who keeps them focused on the goal, and someone who believes they can do it. We celebrate the small wins every step along the journey. It’s progress, not perfection. Are you interested in working with me on a regular basis? Schedule a no-obligation session HERE to learn how the coaching process works and how it will help you. Are you ready?
